Came back to Malaysia about a year ago. Got my handbag snatched, thieves
broke into my house and two weeks ago, lost my blue Kembara. "Welcome to the
reality of being a car owner in Malaysia", I was also told to make a report
and - nothing else you can do.
Is that true? There is NOTHING we can do about car thefts? Or is it we let
the thieves off too easily? We had been conditioned to tolerate crimes?
Any car owner, victims, insurance companies, police, car workshop
owners/operators ... etc, can we ALL do something about car thefts that are
almost unique to Malaysia??
(I lived in many cities for the past 20 years, yet never have I felt so
afraid and tense - having to guard against being victimised by all kinds of
crooks. Sure we have no disaster or political instability here, but crooks
of all kinds are all around us!)
We all deserve a safe living environment where our families and children
can live care freely, not in constant fear. For those who care and agree,
let's hear what you have to say.
Thank you.
