Subject: Sime Puchong Quarry

Dear Sirs

We should like to be put in contact with the Board of Directors of Sime Darby including:

Tan Sri Dato' Seri Ahmad Sarji bin Abdul Hamid - Chairman
Tunku Tan Sri Dato' Seri Ahmad bin Tunku Yahaya - Deputy Chairman
Tan Sri Nik Mohamed bin Nik Yaacob - Group Chief Executive
Martin Giles Manen - Group Finance Director

with regards to the activities of the Sime Puchong Quarry and Sime UEP Properties Berhad details of which can be obtained on our website:
http://www.usj23.com/planet_free/quarry/quarry_that_never_stops.htm

Please be informed that in view of the fact that the Sime Puchong Quarry has on countless occasions deliberately ignored, permits issued by the Petaling Land Office with regards to working hours,  summons by MPSJ with regards to noise and dust pollution, and also the general wellbeing of the Residents of USJ23, USJ24, USJ26 and USJ27, we are currently in the process of gathering a signed petition by all residents of the mentioned sections (approximate 450 houses in total) to be sent to the highest authority in the state, to have the quarry permanently closed down.

We would appreciate that this information is communicated to the Board of Directors of Sime Darby as we feel that they may not be fully aware of the actions of their subordinates in their various subsidiaries.

The repeated actions of these subsidiaries makes a total mockery of common courtesy which we feel is not befitting of a Multi National Organisation.

Best Regards
Community Affairs
