Recognition for
active Neighbourhood Watch Groups
04/11/2001 - One of the many activities held on the 3rd - 4th
November 2001 re-launch of the new look Giant Supermarket, was the "Tips on Crime Prevention", conducted by Encik Kamal
Affandi Hashim, from the Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation. It
was the first time in Malaysia that such an event was sponsored by a Supermarket.
Helpful tips were provided during the
session, which included "live" demonstration (acted out by the group of
dedicated police constables from the Balai Polis USJ8) to show how to avoid
becoming potential victims of crime. There was a clear and simple message -
be alert at all times and use your common sense.
Souvenir packs were handed out at the end of the demonstration to
representatives from the various active Neighbourhood Watch Groups in USJ 16, 17,
18 and 23, these packs included reflective vests, whistles and torch
lights.
Our Chairman Yee Foon Kong received the
souvenir pack on behalf of USJ23 Neighbourhood Watch Group.
"We recognise the effort by this
group of residents. This is our contribution to show that we truly
appreciate their efforts to make USJ a better place to live."
said Jenny Lee, acting CEO of TMC Berhad. |
