(June 2001)
Police
Emergency Call: 03-55102220
To: All residents of USJ 23
Do we belong to one of
these people?
“Could
not care less about anything, other than our own jobs and own worldly
possessions. Only think about themselves and not the community around them. Such
complete abandonment of any shared responsibility or aspiration was most
unfortunate ” Quote: DPM Datuk Abdullah Badawi

share this with your friends and neighbours. Do visit our website, and as

not only USJ 23 residents are visiting our web site, but residents living in
other parts of USJ are visiting us.
You
can also use it as a forum to discuss or forward any concerns if you have any.

5. Projects in progress:
- Noise & Dust Pollution – Granite quarry, located opposite USJ 23,
26 & 27
On 18/05/2001,a delegation of USJ 23
concerned residents (Robert, YH Beh, CN Lee, Samsad and Redzuan ) met the MPSJ
Timbalan Yang Dipertua, Puan Arpah on
the above. Subsequently they were
directed to Pejabat Daerah / Tanah, Petaling. As a result of their visit and
proactive action, the quarry is no longer operating on a 24 hour shift, but only
operating from 8.30 am to 6.00 pm., effective 16/05/2001.Thanks to their great
team efforts, we are able to live in a much lesser noise pollution environment.
2 articles also appeared in the Star
Metro newspaper on 21/05/2001 and 22/05/2001, highlighting our case. Thanks to
Mr. Dharmender Singh, Star reporter.
En. Norarnizar (Manager, Regional
Operations) & two other colleagues of Petronas Gas visited us on 11/05/2001,
following USJ 23 residents letter to them on:
-
Location

maintenance
Petronas Gas is concern and will ensure that this

7. USJ 23
Neighbourhood Watch
Welcome
new members, effective May 2001: -
1.
Ahmad Shah b. Mohamad (2A, USJ 23/ 3C)
Many
thanks for coming forward to join us to ensure that USJ 23 is a better and safer
place to live. For absentees, please show more committed to do your duty for the
night watch. You can sleep better, because your friends are doing the
“ronda”. With the sluggish current economic situation, and more people are
jobless, the crime rate will definitely be on the increase, as noted by the
recent spates of break-ins in our area.
8. USJ 23 Security
Services
There
has being requests from residents wanting to have 24 hours security services.
This matter was deliberated in the recent meeting. The conclusion was that we still need a combination of having
security services and performing our night watch duties, otherwise our row
leaders and committee members will surely and eventually be turned into “ BILL
COLLECTORS” and will result in a situation of total collapse in our Night
Watch activities, and will later have extreme difficulties in reviving it.
Therefore we will treat this issue as closed.

Please talk to your neighbours, and
get more residents to join, the committee cannot be going to every house to
approach them. Each of us has to play our small part, to ensure even better
participation. Our current rate of residents participation is
88.9 %. probably the highest in the whole of USJ. Thank
you.
