USJ 23 Rezoning ( Zone 7 JKP)
A
meeting was called on 06/06/2001 by Datuk Lee Hwa Beng. However, none of our
representatives attended, because their e-mail was sent to us only on the very
day of the meeting.
Subsequently our Chairman requested them that for future meetings we should be
given sufficient notice, as we want to get involved.

Projects & Concerns in progress:
- Noise
& Dust Pollution – Granite quarry, located opposite USJ 23, 26 &
27
On 20/06/2001,
3 of USJ 23 residents i.e. CN Lee, Samsad A.Khan
and Mohd. Redzwan Yahya met up with Pejabat Tanah officials
.The outcome of the meeting were
1)The
Government needs the revenue and there is no reason not to extend the permit
for the operation of the quarry.
2) On the dust pollution they requested
for sometime to solve these out.
3) Lastly they concluded that the Land Office will liaise with DOE to do
random test on the dust pollution level and will monitor the situation.
Thanks
to these 3 gentlemen for taking their time and efforts to represent USJ 23
residents.
The
good news is that after all the follow ups, presently
the quarry is adhering to its permitted operating hours i.e. from
8.00am to 6.30pm., and from Monday to Saturday.
- Petronas
Gas Pipeline, located parallel to USJ 23:
After
Petronas officials visit to us in May 2001, and having resolved 3 of the 2
concerns i.e.
1)
the tall & unkept lallang have being cut.
2) The dangling wire on the ground, also have being now raised above the
ground, by using supporting poles.
3) However the request by USJ residents for the fencing issue, have yet to be
resolved.
- USJ
23 Playground Upgrading
Our
Committee have followed on this concern, however sad to
say the response from the relevant authorities have not being
favourable. Residents will be advised, if there is any new
development.

USJ 23 Neighbourhood Watch
There is improvement in members performing
their Night Watch duty, however we are very disappointed that about 12 members
failed to performed their duty. Please be more committed. If you do your
night watch duty per month for 3 hours, if divided into 30
days per month YOUR DAILY CONTRIBUTION IS ONLY 6 MINUTES, and if you do
take a TEA TARIK break in between, it will be about 4 minutes per day. Gentlemen, it is really
a shame to say "I CANNOT be a Night Watch
member".
6. USJ 23
Security Services = ATTENTION !!!
The results
of USJ 23 website Polling Station, as at 29/06/2001 is as follows:
1)12hours
security+ NW = 24 votes(46%)
2) 24Hours security =
23 votes(44%) and
3) 24 hours security + NW = 5 votes( 9%).
The total no. of voters =
52 voters.
Based on this sample survey, we can conclude the followings:
- USJ 23 residents wanting 24 hours security is split, as well as those
wanting 12 hours security + NW.
- If all residents can think
rationally, should we implement 24 hours security, we will surely have collections
problem from residents, as currently even with 12 hours security, we are
having some defaulters. What about paying more, the collections problem will
become more acute.
- Think
what will become of our committee members and row leaders, I can tell you that
they will eventually become BILL COLLECTORS,
would you like to become one???
- Therefore, Ladies & Gentlemen, the conclusion is that we will not
have 24 hours security, and we will continue with our present 12
security, plus doing our Night Watch. All this may sound very strongly
worded, but these are FACTS.
Contributing
residents, do you have to be reminded many times, that you walk over to your Row
Leader's house to pay your monthly contribution??? Please help them, be prompt
in your payment.
Contribution
for July 2001 will be RM 40 per household
Residents
contributing to the security services as at 31/06/2001
