USJ 23 residents want slip road from LDP
widenedRESIDENTS of USJ 23 want the road leading into the
housing area from the Daman-sara-Puchong Highway (LDP) to be
widened.
Residents’ Association committee member Robert Chan said the slip
road heading north along the highway to turn into the housing area
had two lanes.
He said the flyover being constructed to allow south-bound
traffic on the highway to cross it and enter the housing area also
had two lanes.
“We expect massive traffic jams occurring when the two lanes of
the slip road and flyover merge into a two-lane road,’’ he added.
Chan said with the flyover, residents wanting to enter USJ 23
would have to make a U-turn and when they do so, one lane would be
blocked.
He said this meant that the four lanes would merge into one and
this would cause congestion.
Another resident, who declined to be named, said the road should
have four lanes for a longer distance before it was narrowed to two
lanes.
He said the flyover and slip road connected to the main road
would lead to several future housing areas like USJ 26 and 27.
Chan said there may not be much traffic most of the time but with
so many new homes being built, “it will be chaos during peak hours.”
He said the residents had complained to the Subang Jaya Municipal
Council (MPSJ) and the developer of the project but the road design
had not been adjusted.
He said residents would appeal to Subang Jaya assemblyman Datuk
Lee Hwa Beng for his help to resolve the matter.
