writes Nov 29:
For the first time, the OCPD of Shah Alam Police district of which USJ
falls within, is seeking the cooperation of all the residents in USJ when
it launches a campaign called Keselamatan Kediaman Semasa Bercuti
USJ is privileged to be the launching pad and the focal point for this
campaign which incidentally covers the whole of the Shah Alam Police
District.
Community leaders were given a brief by the Shah Alam OCPD at a dialogue
held on November 27, coordinated by Subang Jaya state assemblyman, Datuk
Lee Hwa Beng.
The launch, which will be done in a big way with press coverage, will take
place on Sunday, December 9 at Bangunan MPSJ at 10am.
All Neighbourhood Watches, the Zon 2 and 3 Resident Committees, Rukun
Tetangga Committees and the USJ Residents Association (USJRA), will be
participating to make this a success.
According to the dialogue, a form and some police tips on security matters
while you are away from home, will be distributed to ALL residents in USJ.
Those who balik kampung or going on a long vacation can fill up the
forms to provide the necessary details, and submit them to the USJ 8
Pondok Polis.
The information gathered will enable the Police to plan their patrol
service more intimately and comprehensively.
They will pay special attention to those vacant houses. Don't be surprised
to see a personal note from the Police in your letter box saying they were
there to watch your house.
They will not hesitate to contact you should they find it necessary.
Thus, while you enjoy yourself elsewhere, you will not have to worry about
people breaking into your house.
Watch out for banners announcing this launch. I understand some 30,000
flyers will be printed and dropped into ALL mail boxes.
Help yourself to help our Police Force to secure your house.
By the way, our Subang Jaya ADUN, YB Datuk Lee Hwa Beng has taken this
initiative to get USJ to embark on this project.
He will also sponsor the cost of printing and distributing the flyers.
Hopefully, it will be successful and thus will be an annual affair.
More details will be provided as and when they are available.
Contact your respective NW, Zon, RT and the USJRA for further info.
